Creating full page advertising and banners for the Dixons, Currys and PC World websites. Adhering to the brand style guidelines and liaising with external design agencies. Supporting the core digital team, creating visuals, building HTML pages from designs, coding for cross-browser compatibility.
Dyson have a great brand style, it's simple and uncomplicated. I needed to be sympathic to their own style while making sure it met our needs for conversion.
Here are a few different full page designs I created. The greatest challenge creating full page adverts are the style clashes. Most companies will not budge on their brand style, but luckily Currys and PC World will bend. These are the most enjoyable pages to create. Each design is different and comes with new issues to overcome.
Not a lot I can say about these sales banners. Its the nature of retail to be constantly creating banners and sale advertising. I had it pretty well locked down with a page of basic design templates. I created ready made assets to output any banner required, any size, any brand in any given timeframe. I love an efficient workflow and hate duplication of effort. If I can help it, I will.
Many of these promo pages only needed images creating. So there was a lot of image resizing and editing to add to the .jsp pages.
